“Black
Men Taking Positive Action for Our Family, Health, and Community”
Greetings Brothers:
The time has finally
arrived; the long awaited and much anticipated Eighth District’s 60th
District Meeting is formally upon us. As you all know many of our chapter
members have worked long and hard to ensure that this upcoming meeting
will be a memorable experience for everyone attending. As a chapter we
have, collectively done, an excellent job especially as it relates to the
role of registrations. We presently have more than (35) members of Chi
Phi chapter, registered for our District Meeting. My Brothers these are
outstanding numbers and I thank you for your efforts in this regard. I
wish that I could say to you that having done what you have already done
is all that there is for you to do; that you can now just sit back and
relax and let the District Meeting take care of itself. Well my Brothers,
I cannot do that. The truth of the matter is that we have a lot of work
in front of us and for us to be truly successful with our undertaking; we
have much work yet to accomplish.
My Brothers during
these next several weeks we need additional efforts from all of the
Brothers. We need to sell tickets for all of our events. We need to sell
advertisements for our souvenir journal. We need to reach out to a
Brother here in the Denver area that we do not normally see, and ask that
they join us in our celebration. And lastly, for now, we need members to
step up and join committees. During the District Meeting, we will be in
need of hosts, transportation people, keepers of peace, and brothers to
work the registration tables. This District Meeting, for the members of
Chi Phi Chapter, is a working meeting. The load however, will be much
lighter for all of us if we work together collectively. If you remember
late last year, I made the statement that as good as we are
individually; we are that much better when we work together.
We have one more month my Brothers and then we can set back, relax and
speak on how well we laid this whole thing out. Again, I thank you my
Brothers, for all that you have done and all that you have yet to do.
Fraternally yours
in, L.L.LH.,
Kirk L.
