“Back to the Basics - 80 Years and Counting, Chi Phi Continues to Live the Ritual”
It gives me great pleasure to discuss the goals and activities of Chi Phi Chapter for the year 2006/2007. Chi Phi is celebrating its’ 80th Birthday this year, and besides the outstanding accomplishment of perseverance, the members of Chi Phi have much more to share with the family of Omega and the community at large.
As our theme indicates, “Back to the Basics – 80 Years of Living the Ritual”, we at Chi Phi continue to implement programs that are the cornerstone of our four cardinal principles Manhood, Perseverance, Scholarship, and Uplift. Just this past year we painted two homes for elderly seniors in our community, we donated Christmas toys to two day care centers of low income families, we donated over $4,000 in scholarship money to deserving college students, we mentored hundreds of children in our Project Manhood and Expanding the Visions mentorship programs, we hosted a health fair that provided great information to the community at large, and we were able to raise money with our Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament and Masquerade party.
These are just a few examples of what our great chapter has accomplished and what we will continue to do throughout 2007. The membership of Chi Phi consists of leaders that will organize, manage, sponsor, and support activities, that make a positive difference in our community as a whole.
